Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, often referred to as Ashanti was born on 13 October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is a musician, singer and actor of the United States. Ashanti was discovered as an 18-year-old and was signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. The same year, she also featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on the 16th of October, 2009. She appeared as a character in The Christmas in the City film and played Latasha as Latasha in Army Wives.
